KCB Bank Uganda has graduated a new cohort of senior and emerging leaders under its KCB Leadership Way Academy, reinforcing the bank’s commitment to developing talent and preparing future leaders within the organisation.
The graduation ceremony, held in Kampala, brought together participants, the bank’s executive committee and senior management to celebrate the successful completion of the leadership development programme.
Speaking at the event, KCB Bank Uganda Managing Director Edgar Byamah encouraged the graduates to embrace self-awareness as the foundation of effective leadership. He said strong leaders first understand themselves before guiding and inspiring others.
Byamah noted that leadership is demonstrated through personal example, integrity and accountability, adding that continuous investment in employees remains essential to the bank’s long-term growth and its ability to meet customers’ evolving needs.
During the programme, participants underwent training in key leadership competencies, including self-leadership, team management, executive presence, building high-performing teams and delivering results. They also took part in coaching sessions, collaborative learning and practical action plans designed to translate knowledge into workplace performance.

According to the bank, the Leadership Way Academy forms part of its broader human capital development strategy, which seeks to nurture leaders capable of driving innovation, strengthening organisational culture and delivering sustainable business growth.
The graduates will continue to benefit from mentorship, leadership coaching, challenging assignments and regular performance assessments as they apply the skills acquired during the programme.
KCB Bank Uganda said it intends to roll out additional leadership cohorts as it continues to strengthen its internal leadership pipeline and build capacity across the organisation.
KCB Bank Uganda is a licensed commercial bank supervised by the Bank of Uganda. The bank operates a nationwide network of 15 branches, 15 automated teller machines (ATMs), 385 banking agents and 295 merchant outlets serving customers across the country.
