KAMPALA: Sports betting company Betica has pledged Shs100 million to support Ntungasaazi FC, a football club based in Mityana, as part of efforts to promote local talent and develop football in Uganda.
The announcement was made on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, during an event organised by Betica at the Kira Road Police Playground in Kampala.
As part of the initiative, Ntungasaazi FC is scheduled to face Maroons FC in a football match at the Kira Road Police Playground.
Betica Marketing Manager, Desire Akanduhura, said the company is searching for promising football teams across the country as part of its efforts to support grassroots talent and contribute to the development of local football.
She said the company intends to identify and support teams with potential to grow and provide opportunities for talented young players.
Ntungasaazi FC Chief Executive Officer, Yosam Ntegyereze, welcomed the financial support, saying the club recently acquired a football team in Masaka with the aim of developing it and promoting it to the Big League.
Ntegyereze thanked Betica for supporting Ntungasaazi, saying the contribution would provide relief to the club’s existing sponsors and help strengthen the team’s ambitions in Ugandan football.
