Jambojet will resume flights between Nairobi and Entebbe on October 1, 2026, returning to the Ugandan market.
The decision is informed by the growing demand for travel between Kenya and Uganda continues to recover.
The daily service is expected to strengthen air connectivity between the two East African markets while providing additional options for business and leisure travellers and supporting cross-border trade and tourism.
One-way fares will start from approximately US$170.
Jambojet Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Karanja Ndegwa said the return to Uganda was part of the airline’s wider regional expansion strategy.
“Our return to Uganda is a strategic step forward in our mission to strengthen regional connectivity. We see significant opportunities to support business, tourism and trade between Kenya and Uganda while providing travellers with affordable, reliable and convenient flying experience that Jambojet is known for,” said Ndegwa.
“Making flying accessible across East Africa and beyond remains central to our mission. Uganda is an important market for Jambojet, and we are excited to reconnect the two destinations, while creating greater opportunities for travellers to connect to other destinations across our network,” he added.
The Nairobi–Entebbe route is expected to provide an additional link between two of East Africa’s major economic centres, facilitating the movement of people and goods between Kenya and Uganda.
Alongside passenger services, Jambojet will offer cargo and parcel services on the route, providing additional capacity for businesses moving goods between the two countries.
The airline said the service would also give Ugandan travellers easier access to onward destinations within its network, including Kenya’s coastal tourism destinations such as Mombasa, Diani, Malindi and Lamu.
The Nairobi–Entebbe air corridor is expected to carry about 300,000 passengers in 2026, highlighting continued demand for travel between the two countries.
Jambojet’s daily service will add capacity and choice for travellers while supporting the broader recovery of regional tourism, business travel and trade.
Ahead of the October launch, Jambojet, in partnership with the Uganda Association of Travel Agents (TUGATA), held a stakeholder engagement breakfast at the Sheraton Kampala Hotel.
The meeting brought together representatives from government, travel, tourism, trade, corporate organisations and the media. It provided an opportunity for the airline to outline its plans for the Ugandan market and discuss opportunities for collaboration around the Nairobi–Entebbe route.
TUGATA Chairperson Irene Nanyombi welcomed the airline’s return to Uganda, saying the service could support increased travel and commercial activity between the two countries.
“We are delighted to welcome Jambojet back to Uganda. The resumption of this service comes at an opportune time, as we continue to strengthen travel, trade and tourism opportunities across the region,” Nanyombi said.
“We look forward to working closely with Jambojet to promote the route and create more opportunities for travellers to discover and connect with both destinations,” she added.
Jambojet’s return to Uganda comes as the airline continues to expand its operations.
In April 2026, the airline increased its active fleet to 11 aircraft and marked the milestone of carrying its 10 millionth passenger.
