Kyomundo recalls in 2019, when her son who was in kindergarten then went to school and was a few hours later called by teachers that her son had collapsed.
“I went there and picked the boy , the body temperature was high and I rushed him to a clinic where medics said he had Malaria. Since then, my child has never been well complaining of headache all the time.
My child changed completely complaining of headache as I visited several health facilities,” she reminisces
She says she carried out several scans and later, referred to Mengo Hospital where they said her son was to go for surgery at Mulago National Referral Hospital and that he had even lost sight.

‘When you look at him you may think he is seeing ,but he is visually impaired, however the doctors promised that it’s possible for him to regain his sight when proper medication is given,” she explains
At Mulago,Kyomuhendo says the doctor recommended surgery, but before the family had incurred costs of over Shs 10 million at different facilities to me his medication .
“I have sold whatever I had to raise money for medication and now remaining with nothing –that is why I am calling all well-wishers to come to my rescue so that I can cover the cost of necessary medication ,”she says
Kyomuhendo’s husband abandoned her and the son after learning about his condition.
“He[husband] stopped talking to me when the baby was recommended for a surgery. I don’t know his where about since all his known phones are off,” she says
