Chelsea Crush PSG to Claim FIFA Club World Cup

Chelsea Football Club stunned Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 to win the inaugural expanded FIFA Club World Cup at MetLife Stadium.

Cole Palmer scored twice and assisted Joao Pedro’s goal, leading the Premier League side to their second world title since 2021.

Before a record 81,188 fans, including U.S. President Donald Trump, Chelsea outplayed the favored PSG, who were chasing a quadruple after winning Ligue 1, the Coupe de France, and the Champions League. Palmer’s left-footed strikes in the 22nd and 30th minutes, following a PSG defensive error, ended their 436-minute clean sheet streak.

Pedro’s 43rd-minute chip over Gianluigi Donnarumma sealed the rout.“It’s a great feeling, especially since everyone doubted us,” said Palmer, named player of the match.

Tensions flared late when PSG’s Joao Neves was red-carded in the 84th minute, and a post-match scuffle involving PSG’s Luis Enrique and Donnarumma required intervention.

Chelsea, fourth in the Premier League and UEFA Conference League winners, earned $128.4m to $153.8m in prize money. The victory marks a historic triumph in the expanded Club World Cup.By [Your Name], July 14, 2025
