Police have revealed that they have arrested more suspects in the murder of SC Villa captain, David Owori that happened last week.
Spokesperson, Kituuma Rusoke told journalists on Monday that following the initial arrest of two suspects whom he identified as buyers of stolen items, the police swoop has led to more arrests.
“We got suspects we believe are buyers of these stolen phones and arrested more two and at moment we have four suspects and the number may increase,” Rusoke said.
Owori succumbed to wounds on Wednesday morning after being hit violently by unknown assailants near his home in Makindye.
The SC Villa captain was targeted by the thugs at around 8pm as he returned home, was violently beaten and several belongings including his phones were robbed.
He would later succumb to injuries at Case Clinic in Kampala where he had been admitted in the Intensive Care Unit.
Police said last week that tracking of the deceased footballer’s iPhone led to the arrest of two people who had bought the stolen phone.
According to Rusoke, two more were arrested, adding that investigations are still ongoing.
“ We are zeroing on the suspects who injured the victim occasioning the death. We are interested in those who committed the offence, those who aid in its commission, before during and after the commission of the actual offence,” Rusoke warned.
