KAMPALA — Police investigations may be needed to establish the circumstances surrounding the death of a second-year Makerere University student whose body was discovered near the university’s Main Library on Monday morning.
The deceased, identified as Kabuye Kevin Charles, was pursuing a Bachelor of Architecture degree and lived in Room C34 at Nkrumah Hall, according to the hall’s leadership.
In a statement posted on the hall’s official social media platforms, the administration announced Kabuye’s death, saying he was found inside a cage housing a network mast near the College of Business and Management Sciences (CoBAMS) and the Main Library.
The announcement described the incident as a sudden loss and conveyed condolences to the student’s family, friends, fellow residents and the wider university community.
Details surrounding the circumstances of his death remain unclear, and further information about the incident had not been provided by the hall leadership in the statement.
