HOIMA — Chief of Defence Forces and Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Operations Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has rewarded the Uganda Cranes with Shs30 million following their victory over Libya at Hoima City Stadium.

The cash reward, channelled through the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), was presented to Cranes captain Denis Onyango by Daudi Kabanda, the Head of the Chairman’s Office.

The reward followed Uganda’s win over Libya in the first match played by the national team at the newly completed Hoima City Stadium.

The Cranes have since departed Hoima and travelled to South Africa, where they are scheduled to play two international friendly matches against the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The team travelled from Kabalega International Airport on a Uganda Airlines domestic flight to Entebbe International Airport before continuing with the journey to South Africa.
