President Museveni has taken Oath of Allegiance and Oath of President to extend his stay in office to 45 years .
However , the 81-year-old leader went through the ceremony without the First Lady Janet by his side as is the norm . Janet 77,has been unwell for several weeks and was recently reportedly flown out of the country to received advanced medical care . Janet has always attended key national events ,atleast in the past years
Instead ,Mr Museveni was accompanied first Natasha Karugire . Through the parade inspection,Museveni was accompanied by his son and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, and was flanked by heavily armed elite Special Forces personnel (SFC) .The Kololo event has attracted several high-level dignitaries, with at least 15 Heads of State in attendance alongside regional and international representatives.
