The Deputy Speaker of Parliament Rt Hon Thomas Tayebwa is uncertain about the public perception towards opposition political interventions which will affect the development of our country.
Rt Hon Tayebwa was addressing mourners during a send off mass for Hon Hellen Nakimuli at St Nicholas Church Namungoona in Kampala.
He expresses disappointment over the growing trends of blocking, witch hunting, speaking against differing politicians by party for relating, naming them hypocrites, because the politicians of a differing belief have been seen relating or talking to each other saying that this is wrong because it stunts development.
The Minister of ICT and career guidance and information Minister Hon Chris Balyomunsi while addressing mourners, he says that several opposition politicians and members of Parliament decided to hate ruling party officials yet its them to serve and coordinate service delivery, he has urged them to emulate Hon Hellen Nakimuli who used these offices through the ruling party officials to lobby for her constituency.
He has warned that the government will be forced to impose stringent regulations against those who are misusing social media citing those who celebrate the dead.
Meanwhile the Leader of Opposition Rt Hon has downpoured Hon Balyomunsi’s threats to shrink the freedom of speech on social media saying that as the government prepares to shrink this space it should caution the Commander of Defence Forces Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba. Who has continuously insulted the public politicians including those in the ruling party through misuse of social media.
Late Hon Hellen Nakimuli has been laid to rest at her ancestral grounds at Lunyolya in Luwero District.
