Victoria University is preparing to award academic qualifications to approximately 2,500 students during its 10th graduation ceremony on October 19 and 20, 2026, at Speke Resort Convention Centre in Munyonyo, Kampala.
The two-day event will see students receive certificates, diplomas, bachelor’s degrees and master’s degrees under the theme “The Future Is High”, with a focus on the changing role of technology in education and employment.
Julius Bukyana, the university’s Corporate and Public Relations Manager, said the ceremony would highlight the growing impact of artificial intelligence (AI) and technological advancements on teaching, learning and professional development.
Bukyana said higher education institutions needed to prepare graduates for a rapidly evolving job market by combining academic knowledge with practical skills and technological competence.
He noted that Victoria University had embraced work-integrated learning, an approach that blends classroom instruction with hands-on workplace experience to equip students with skills they can apply in their careers.
The university considers the model important in bridging the gap between academic training and industry expectations, while helping graduates adapt to emerging technologies and changing workplace demands.
The graduation ceremony is expected to attract university administrators, lecturers, graduands and invited guests to celebrate the students’ academic achievements and mark another milestone in the institution’s development.
Victoria University began operations in 2013 and is a private higher education institution chartered by the National Council for Higher Education. It is part of the Ruparelia Group.
