The court has ordered the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) to seize, assess and sell property acquired by the convicted persons using ransom money linked to the kidnapping and murder of Susan Magara, with the proceeds to be paid to her family.
According to the ruling delivered by Justice Ajiji, the assets identified for confiscation include three acres of land in Buikwe reportedly purchased for Shs140 million, an acre of land in Luweero and several motor vehicles.
The judge also directed that three vehicles allegedly used during the kidnapping operation, surveillance activities and disposal of Susan Magara’s body be confiscated by the state.
Justice Ajiji said the confiscation order was intended to ensure that the convicts do not continue to benefit from assets obtained through criminal proceeds.
The ruling marks the final case handled by Justice Ajiji before his retirement from judicial service after reaching the mandatory retirement age.
