
President Museveni Tuesday met the Kyabazinga of Busoga, William Gabula Nadiope, at State House Entebbe, where he congratulated him on his 11th coronation anniversary and the recent birth of royal twins, underscoring government support for cultural institutions and development in the region.
The meeting between the President and Kyabazinga’s delegation was cordial and centered on issues of mutual interest and development.
Announcing the meeting on his official X account, the President extended his congratulations to the Kyabazinga on two milestones—the 11th anniversary of his coronation and the birth of twins.
“I met with His Royal Highness the Kyabazinga William Wilberforce Gabula Nadiope IV and his delegation from the Busoga Kingdom. We discussed issues of mutual interest, and I congratulate him on his 11th coronation and on the blessing of twins,” Museveni posted.
Kyabazinga’s entourage included: Busoga Kingdom’s 2nd Deputy Prime Minister Alhaji Osman Ahmed Noor, Busoga Kingdom’s,Ivan Kirya,the Finance Minister ,Minister of State for Finance, Eng. Patrick Batumbya and Dr. Francis Muwonge.
The meeting is part of Museveni ’s wider engagements with cultural institutions to promote social cohesion, development, and preservation of Uganda’s cultural heritage.
Museveni commended the Kyabazinga for his consistent leadership in promoting unity, youth empowerment, and education within the Busoga sub-region. He reiterated his government’s commitment to supporting the cultural institution’s initiatives.
The Kyabazinga, who ascended the throne in 2014, has been instrumental in revitalizing cultural pride and spearheading community-driven programs across the 11 chiefdoms of Busoga.
The birth of royal twins to Inhebantu Jovia Mutesi, whom he married in November 2023, was widely celebrated across the region as a historic moment for the kingdom.
During the meeting, the Kyabazinga expressed gratitude to the President for the warm reception and for the government’s continued engagement with cultural institutions.
Posting on his X Kyabazinga said they engaged in an in-depth discussion focused on issues of mutual interest that would have a significant impact on the Busoga sub region.
