KAMPALA . Elton Joseph Mabirizi , the presidential flag bearer for Conservative Party (CP) has been turned away by the Electoral Commission after falling short of the nomination requirements .
When Mabarizi , who is making a second shot at the presidency , turned up for nomination on Tuesday , EC chairperson Justice Simon Byabakama asked him to “ resolve an outstanding issue” which the latter didn’t publicly specify.
However, according to Mabirizi, the matter relates to his Master’s degree, which still requires certification by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE). He has been given until 4pm today or tomorrow to fulfill the requirement.
