The ministry said one of the patients developed symptoms consistent with Ebola and was immediately isolated by rapid response teams, while the second case was identified as a contact of a previously confirmed patient.

“All contacts of this new confirmed case have been identified and are under close follow up,” the ministry said in a statement.

The latest infections raise concern over continued cross-border transmission risks and possible spread within the capital as health authorities intensify surveillance and contact tracing efforts.

The Ministry of Health urged the public to remain vigilant and report symptoms such as sudden fever, fatigue, muscle pain, vomiting, diarrhea and unexplained bleeding.

Health officials said early reporting increases chances of survival.
