President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has cautioned government ministers against failing to deliver public services to Ugandans, warning that those found underperforming risk being dismissed from office.
According to a statement shared by the Government of Uganda, President Museveni said he would take decisive action if he personally visits different parts of the country and discovers that services intended for citizens are not being effectively delivered.
The President stressed that accountability and improved service delivery remain central to government programmes and that ministers must ensure that wananchi benefit from public services and government interventions.
Museveni reportedly stated that failure by ministers to supervise and ensure proper service delivery would leave him with no option but to sack those responsible.
The President made the remarks shortly after the voting process for the Speaker of the 12th Parliament held at Kololo Independence Grounds.
His comments come at a time when the government continues to emphasize efficiency, transparency, and accountability in public administration under the #OpenGovUg initiative.
