“St. Lawrence University is committed to nurturing competent professionals and future leaders who can positively impact their communities and the country at large,” he said.

He added that the university possesses the academic capacity and professional expertise necessary to prepare both young people and adults for leadership roles in various sectors of society.

Ssemakula also praised Bishop Jjumba for his dedication to serving Catholics from Masaka Diocese living and working in Kampala and surrounding areas, noting that his pastoral leadership has helped strengthen unity and spiritual growth among the faithful.

Addressing the congregation, Bishop Jjumba underscored the importance of higher education in shaping individuals and communities. He encouraged parents and young people to invest in education, describing it as a key driver of personal advancement and social transformation.

The bishop further recognized St. Lawrence University’s contribution to the Church through educational support initiatives, including scholarships and other forms of assistance that have enabled many students to pursue university education.

According to Bishop Jjumba, the institution’s efforts have opened doors for numerous beneficiaries, allowing them to acquire qualifications and skills that enhance their future prospects.
