ENTEBBE.

The President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa arrived in Uganda Tuesday evening to take part in the 11th Session of the Africa Regional Forum on Sustainable Development (ARFSD).


ARFSD is a high-level gathering convened under the auspices of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA).
President Mnangagwa was warmly received at Entebbe International Airport by Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to Uganda, WinPeg Moyo, the Minister of Public Service, Wilson Muruli Mukasa, the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Mr. James Ochaya, the Deputy Commander of the Air Force, Maj. Gen. David Isimbwa and the Deputy Commissioner General of Prisons, Mr. Samuel Akena.


The ARFSD session brings together heads of state, ministers, policymakers, civil society actors, and development partners from across the continent to review progress and accelerate the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the African Union’s Agenda 2063.


President Mnangagwa is expected to deliver a keynote address during one of the high-level segments, underscoring Zimbabwe’s commitment to sustainable development, climate resilience, and inclusive economic transformation. His participation further reaffirms Zimbabwe’s active role in regional integration and sustainable growth.
