H.E. Azouz Nasri, the President of the Council of the Nation of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria has arrived in Kampala to attend the swearing in of president Museveni

Uganda has warmly welcomed H.E. Azouz Nasri, the President of the Council of the Nation of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, who arrived in Kampala with a 10-member delegation to represent H.E. Abdelmadjid Tebboune at the swearing-in ceremony of Uganda’s President-elect.

According to State House Uganda, the high-level visit reflects the strengthening diplomatic ties and growing cooperation between Uganda and Algeria in several strategic sectors.

The visit comes at a time when both African nations are deepening collaboration in areas including diplomacy, trade, energy, mining, and regional security cooperation. Officials noted that the presence of the Algerian delegation at the ceremony demonstrates the strong friendship and mutual respect shared between the two countries.

Uganda and Algeria have in recent years continued to work together on continental issues affecting Africa, particularly in promoting peace, sovereignty, regional stability, and economic integration. The partnership is also expected to open up more opportunities for investment, trade exchange, and cooperation in natural resources development.

The delegation’s attendance at the swearing-in ceremony further highlights Africa’s growing spirit of unity and solidarity among member states as leaders continue to push for stronger continental cooperation and sustainable development.

Government officials described the visit as another important milestone in enhancing bilateral relations between Kampala and Algiers, while reaffirming the commitment of both nations to work together for the advancement of Africa’s shared interests.
