Titan Industries Praised for Creating Over 350 Jobs and Driving Uganda’s Industrial Growth

By Joseph Mary Buwule

The Minister for Local Government, Balaam Barugahara Ateenyi, has commended Titan Industries for creating employment opportunities for Ugandan youth and contributing significantly to the country’s economic growth and industrial development.

During a tour of the company’s manufacturing facilities on Friday afternoon, Balaam lauded the firm for providing more than 350 jobs to both skilled and non-skilled young people, describing the achievement as a major contribution to Uganda’s socio-economic transformation.

Titan Industries is one of Uganda’s leading manufacturers of construction materials, tools, hardware, and safety solutions. The company has grown from its origins as Max Hardware & Tools Limited in Nabugabo into a thriving manufacturing enterprise serving both local and regional markets.

Speaking after the visit, Balaam congratulated the company’s founders, management, and staff for their role in advancing Uganda’s industrialization agenda.

“What began as Max Hardware & Tools Limited in Nabugabo has grown into a thriving manufacturing enterprise that has transitioned from importing products to producing them locally, successfully substituting imports with high-quality Ugandan-made products,” he said.

The minister noted that the company had embraced President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s call for industrialization by investing in local manufacturing, creating employment opportunities, building skills among young Ugandans, and adding value to products produced within the country.

He described Titan Industries’ growth as a testament to the power of vision, innovation, hard work, and patriotism, saying the company’s success demonstrates how Ugandan businesses can drive national development through value addition and import substitution.

Balaam further applauded the company for inspiring other local entrepreneurs to invest in manufacturing and industrial development, sectors regarded as critical to Uganda’s journey toward middle-income status.

The visit comes at a time when Uganda is intensifying efforts to promote industrialization, job creation, and local production as key pillars of economic transformation.

Titan Industries has emerged as one of the companies helping to reduce dependence on imported construction and hardware products while creating employment and strengthening the country’s manufacturing sector.

The minister concluded by thanking the company for its contribution to Uganda’s prosperity and wished continued success for the enterprise as it expands its role in the country’s industrial development.
