Tumwebaze Sworn in as Member of 12th Parliament, Pledges Continued Service to Kibale East

KAMPALA – The Minister of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries, Frank Tumwebaze, has officially been sworn in as a member of Uganda’s 12th Parliament, marking another milestone in his two-decade political journey representing Kibale East Constituency in Kamwenge District.

In a message shared shortly after taking the oath, Tumwebaze expressed gratitude to God, his constituents, and his family for the support that has sustained his leadership career.

“Duly sworn in as a member of the 12th Parliament,” Tumwebaze stated, adding that he believes leadership is a calling from God.

The legislator, who has represented Kibale East for the last 20 years, thanked the people of Rwamwanja and Kamwenge District for their continued trust and confidence in him.

“To my great people of Kibale East (Rwamwanja) and Kamwenge at large, thank you for your love and support for all the 20 years I have been your representative in Parliament,” he said.

Tumwebaze pledged to continue championing the interests of his constituents and ensuring that their concerns are heard at all levels of decision-making.

“My pledge to you, as before and now, is never to shirk that noble responsibility you have entrusted me with. I will never sleep on the job and your voice will always be heard unequivocally at every level of decision making,” he noted.

The minister also paid tribute to his family, describing them as his “rock and support system” throughout his political career.

Tumwebaze concluded his message with the phrase “Kazi inaendelea,” Swahili for “the work continues,” signaling his commitment to ongoing service in Parliament and government.
