The Government of Uganda has moved to reassure the public, tourism stakeholders, and the international community that the country remains safe for travel despite the confirmation of isolated imported Ebola cases linked to the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Through the Government of Uganda, authorities emphasized that the situation is under control and closely monitored by health officials working in coordination with relevant agencies to prevent any further spread.
The Uganda Tourism Board also issued reassurance to tourists and industry partners, stating that Uganda’s tourism destinations remain open and secure, with ongoing surveillance and preparedness measures in place across key entry points and communities.
Officials noted that the reported cases are isolated and imported, meaning they originated outside the country, and have triggered immediate response protocols including enhanced screening and monitoring systems.
Uganda continues to work closely with regional health authorities and international partners in tracking and managing the situation, while urging the public to remain calm, observe health guidance, and rely on verified official updates.
The government reiterated that Uganda remains a safe and welcoming destination for visitors, with strengthened public health systems ensuring preparedness for any potential health threats, including Ebola virus disease linked concerns.
