Uganda’s Prime Minister, Robinah Nabbanja, on Tuesday evening hosted the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Thomas Tayebwa, together with Uganda’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Nimisha Madhvani, and a delegation of potential investors from the United Kingdom at her residence in Kampala.

According to the Prime Minister, the visiting business delegation from the Westminster Africa Business Association is in Uganda to explore investment opportunities and strengthen business relations between Uganda and the United Kingdom.

Nabbanja revealed that the investors are part of a group that first visited Uganda in February this year following her invitation made on behalf of President Yoweri Museveni. The visit was aimed at showcasing Uganda’s investment potential across different sectors of the economy.

She noted that the delegation returned to Uganda to witness the inauguration ceremony of President Museveni and continue discussions on possible investment partnerships and business engagements.

The Prime Minister said the engagement provided an opportunity for the investors to interact with Ugandan leaders and gain deeper insight into the country’s economic environment and development priorities.

The delegation also met leaders from Kakumiro District who are in Kampala to witness the swearing-in ceremony of President Museveni.

Uganda has in recent years intensified efforts to attract foreign direct investment by promoting opportunities in sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, infrastructure, tourism, energy, and mineral development. The government says partnerships with international investors are key to accelerating industrialization, job creation, and economic transformation.

The return of the UK business delegation comes at a time when Uganda is positioning itself as a strategic investment destination in East Africa, supported by ongoing infrastructure development and regional trade integration initiatives.
